Frequently Asked Questions
The Lexus Plus Direct Customer Quality Promise
Our Lexus Plus Direct vehicles will go through our thorough comprehensive 145+ multi point inspection by one of our Lexus trained technicians at our dedicated Vehicle Preparation Centre and be Approved before delivery to you. Our technicians will test drive every vehicle to check engine performance, steering and brakes. They listen out for unexpected noises or vibrations and test for mechanical problems. If we discover anything we don’t like, we fix it!
Each vehicle is restored to the manufacturer’s settings and is checked to make sure they meet all MOT safety standards as a minimum. We also replace all brakes and tyres with less than 3 months normal wear left. If the vehicle requires a service within 3 months this will also be carried out. We will also carry out any minor paint defects repairs at our Preparation Centre (cars with previous major damage will not be offered).
We own all our cars, so we can guarantee the quality of every car we sell. This means that when you buy a Lexus Plus Direct vehicle, you can be completely confident about its history, condition and safety.
Once we’ve inspected and reconditioned each vehicle, we display detailed images from every angle that you can view on our image gallery with 19 images and video for extra confidence.
Each car is fully valeted inside and out before your collection at one of our approved Centres. We deep clean everything from the backseats to the boot and even the engine.

How to Buy Online
Can I use my current car as part exchange?
Yes. You have the opportunity to value your current car as part of the checkout process. Please see the Part Exchange FAQs lower down this page for more information.
Why do you ask me to select a preferred Lexus Dealer?
Whilst Lexus (GB) PLC deal with all Buy Online sales directly, all vehicles are collected from a Lexus Dealer. Please select the most convenient Dealer as you complete checkout.
How secure is the reservation fee payment process?
In order to reserve your Direct car, we will request a £99 reservation fee at checkout, payable by credit or debit card. These payments are processed by an industry leader in payment processing and Lexus (GB) PLC does not have access to your card details.
How does the finance application process work?
Once you place your order, your application for finance will be processed straight away and we’ll communicate the outcome as quickly as possible. Usually this will be within a few working hours, but it may take longer if we need to ask you for additional supporting information.
If we are unable to approve your finance application, your order will be cancelled and your reservation fee immediately refunded.
Why do I need to create an account?
Creating an account is an important part of the process. It allows you to save your progress if you can’t complete checkout in one go and provides us with secure way of communicating with you at certain points in the process. For example, finance documentation will be shared with you via your secure customer area.
Note that this account is needed only for buying your used Lexus online. All other Lexus online services can be accessed via our owners app, My Lexus. More details about My Lexus can be found here.
Purchase and Delivery
What if I change my mind after I've placed my order?
If you wish to cancel or change your order, please let us know as soon as possible. Our terms and conditions of sale describe your rights to cancel and the process for doing so.
How long will it take for my vehicle to be ready for collection?
We aim to have all cars available for collection from your chosen Dealer within 10 days. However, we cannot guarantee this will always be possible. Our Buy Online team will give you regular updates on the status of your order and will arrange a collection appointment at the earliest opportunity.
Please help us to fulfil your order as promptly as possible by responding promptly to any communications requesting you to do something – for example, providing supporting information for your finance application or paying any funds to us.
What will happen at my collection appointment?
Please remember to bring photographic identification (driving license or passport) to your collection appointment. We won’t be able to hand over your vehicle without this.
If you are buying on finance, we will ask you to sign your finance agreement in the presence of one of the Dealer team. Don’t worry, you will receive the documents from us in plenty of time to review them and ask any questions before your collection day.
Finally, if you have a part exchange vehicle, your collection Dealer will perform an appraisal of the vehicle to confirm its value. If possible, it will save time at your collection appointment if we can complete this in advance of the collection appointment.
How do I pay my finance deposit or full vehicle balance?
We will provide details of how to transfer funds to us via bank transfer. We require cleared funds from you before we can handover the car so please make sure you action the request promptly.
Part exchanging your current car
What happens if I am part exchanging my current car?
If you have chosen to use your current car in part exchange, then we will require proof that the car belongs to you solely. We will also need you to provide details of any outstanding finance on the vehicle, including a settlement quote from your lender.
You will also need to supply all relevant documentation and items belonging to the car, for example V5 registration certificate, keys, MOT certificate, service history, spare wheel if fitted, parcel shelf, etc.
We will require copies of any information we request in advance before we organise and agree the delivery date for your car. We will then need to see the original copies of this information when we deliver the car to you.
How will you confirm the value of my part exchange car?
When you check out online, you will be asked to answer some questions about the condition of your part exchange car. The answers you give will be used to value your vehicle, so it’s important you answer them as accurately as possible.
Before you can take collection of your new car, we will perform a physical appraisal of your part exchange vehicle. This appraisal will be carried out by your collection Dealer and we recommend it be done before your collection day if possible.
In the event that the physical appraisal of your vehicle returns a different valuation to the one you saw during checkout, we will discuss the options with you. These may include adjusting your finance or cash deposit to cover any difference in expected value.
